Had a great Halloween. Of course, the festivities started a few weeks ago with the Monroe Campout, then we went to a Halloween Party up in Lompoc last weekend (will put those photos up soon) and Josie went to at least 2 other Halloween carnivals at different schools.
Last night was the big event, though, and it didn’t disappoint. Josie and Ted and Java trick or treated for 2 hours and came home with a pillowcase full of candy. The cats and I had a few trick or treaters, not as many as last year, and we have a bunch of candy left.
Of course, sorting the candy was almost as much fun as the trick or treating. There were some interesting tidbits this year, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer lollipops, gummy eyeballs, gummy teeth (much to Ted’s horror), and a strange marshmallow thing with a fruit chew center. I discovered that my favorite of the normal Halloween candy is Reese’s Peanut-butter Cups (who knew? I like the chocolate in them).
And we’ll close with our pumpkins. I carved the one on the left from a pattern that Josie drew for me. She carved the one on the right from her own pattern.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
