Scully Sunbathing

It’s definitely summertime here in sunny So Cal. I used to dread the heat of the summers, but I think that was a combination of having to dress for work and drive from Pomona to Downey in a car that not only didn’t have air conditioning, but that had to have the heater running to prevent the engine from over heating. In rush hour traffic.
Now that we live on a shady street (at least our houses is shaded, which is nice, except when the big tree out front drops its leaves, like right now) and my commute to work consists of walking out to the office in the backyard or to my workstation in the living room and my work clothes are shorts and a t-shirt, I enjoy summer a lot more.
The cats, especially Scully (pictured), love it. They soak up the sun on a windowsill until they are too hot, then they retreat to the shady livingroom. Kind of like a kitty-sauna.
Summertime in Lakewood means everyone gathering at Debbi and Greg’s pool to swim and talk, no homework, sleeping in late, Summer Enrichment classes for Josie (drama this year, which she is loving), morning coffee outside at my table, and cats sleeping on the windowsills.
